We got up about 9. There was no reason to get up earlier. We did the pet stuff, had breakfast, messed around and finally left at 11.
The drive was one of the worst I've ever had. The first part to Boulder City was OK. Then just outside Boulder the highway was blocked. Apparently there was a high speed pursuit on the highway and the police didn't want anyone on the road. We waited for 20 minutes or so before they let us go.
The climb out of the canyon is always bad. It got worse once we got on top. We had a 25 mph headwind all of the way to Kingman. Between the wind and the continual uphill I couldn't go over 60 without going over the EGT limit. I worked the truck harder, for longer, than I have ever done it before.
To make it worse today was the day for asshole drivers. Cars pulled in front of me and slammed on their brakes several times. A truck pulled across the road and I had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting it.
To cap it off we had to drive through Kingman to the KOA. The street we were on was severely congested for the 2 miles we were on it.
The rubber thing that latches the shower broke this morning. I used a hose holder to tie it temporarily. After we were set up we went to Walmart to get a permanent replacement. They didn't have anything I could use. Luckily ACE had something that will work.
When we got home it was TV and a semi-nap. Today tired me out.
Dinner was leftover crepe. After dinner was football.
