Day 1442

We got up about 8 today, did the pet stuff, and then started the wash.  We ate breakfast after it was started.  The wash took quite awhile to get done.

While the wash was going I called the Austin eye surgeons.   I've got an appointment for Nov 12.  While I was folding clothes the inside of my left eye exploded.  There were floaters and blood.  For awhile I could barely see out of it.  Things improved during the day, but I now have a big floater in the center of my left eye vision.  So much for having improved vision after the surgery.

We didn't get going to the strip until almost 11.  We parked at the Tropicana.  It was free parking.  Our first stop was MGM.  It's sort of old and showing it's age.  We wanted to see the lions, but they don't have them any more.  We went across the street to New York New York.  It's been remodeled and is pretty cool.  They had a 4 seat version off cows that has a great big screen mounted on the wall.  We won $6 there.

We also found a bakery that sold huge donuts.  We bought one and cut it up.  Most of it ended up coming home with us.  We continued up the street to the Coca Cola store.  I bought a t-shirt and a couple of Christmas ornaments.  We continued shopping at the Hard Rock cafe.  Ellen got a t-shirt, pins, and a small purse.

By then it was time for lunch.  We ate lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe on the patio looking out over the strip.  We had great views of the Aria and the large buildings around it.  I had a couple of fancy drinks that left me feeling good.

After lunch we went across to the Cosmopolitan.   We'd never been there before.  We walked around the casino and found both the 4 seat cows and Monty Python.  We quickly lost $25 on the machines without them providing any entertainment.  So we left for the Belagio.  We got there just in time to watch the fountain show.

After the show was done we went inside.  We marveled at all of the detail in the building like the mosaic floors.  Then we went to the atrium where they had an incredible display of animals from India made out of flowers.  They were huge and most of them moved.  We also made sure to look at the chocolate fountain.

From there we took the tram to the Aria.  We walked around all of the high dollar stores looking in the windows.  The stores mainly had bored sales people and no customers.  We also looked at the whirlpools.  They were neat, but they weren't dynamic like they used to be.

We ate dinner at a patisserie at the Aria.  The food was good, but they charged us $12 for two bottles of water.

When we got back to the parking lot there was an asshole in a big Ford pickup who couldn't drive it for shit.  He blocked the exit to the structure because he thought he was too high (he wasn't).  He finally got turned around and then blocked the exit road waiting for a car to leave.  He managed to hit the car in the next spot when he was parking his truck.  We finally got around him.

We stopped at a whole pay check on the way home to get milk and bread.  When we got home we fed the animals and took Lucy to the dog park.  She had to piss bad.

The rest of the evening was TV and surfing.
