We got up at 7, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and hooked up the truck. I'm not for sure, but I think we were on the road about 7:45.
The first stop was the station at the top of the hill. I wanted to have a full tank for the trip to Phoenix. The trip was a bad as I expected it to be. From 3,300 down to 1,800; back up to 2,800; down to 1,900; back up to 2,900; back down to ?; and back up to 3,300. There might have been more.
Add to that a lot of really rough road and a couple of minor truck problems. The truck ran like a top and got an amazing 11 mpg. We fueled up in Phoenix.
The drive through Phoenix was about normal. The traffic was a little heavy and that made for a stressful drive. We got to the park about 1:20.
When Ellen opened the slides she found that the drawer under the TV had fallen out. Both of the side rails were ripped off. In addition some of the contents had gotten stuck under the slide out and wouldn't come out. I had to take apart my hacksaw and use it as a hook to pry out the stuff. After that I had to drill holes and reattach the side rails. Then I sorted out the stuff that didn't need to be there. This wasn't what I wanted to do after a 6.5 hour drive.
I needed a box for the excess stuff, plus a new latch for the drawer. So we drove to ACE and got them. When we got home we waited around for half an hour for the ice cream truck. It didn't show up. We waited some more until 5:20 for Bingo. No one showed up. So we went to dinner at the BBQ place. It was really good.
After dinner we went back to the trailer and watched WSU actually win a football game. We were amazed. The rest of the evening was watching a movie and car shows. I also got out the stuff to go to the club tomorrow. We want to go early when it's cool.
