Day 136

Lots of calls from relatives that are coming in for the funeral. Also a couple of people brought food by. Hooch read the eulogy I wrote and made some changes. He found a website that gives instructions on how to write eulogies. I told him I didn't care. I'll write what I want the way I want.

Mom and I went over to the funeral home for the visitation. They've done a very good job. It was funny. We spent so much time worrying about how the coffin would look. With the flag and drapings on it, you can barely see it. We only spent about 20 minutes there. I took some pictures and Mom stood by the coffin. We also got the death certificates - an important milestone.

After that we left there we picked up Mom's dress at Nordstroms and my suit at Northtown. We got thank you cards for various people. Two of them cost $3 apiece. I hate Hallmark. While we were at Northtown I drove by the home I grew up in. I took some pictures. Those houses are alot smaller than I remember.

On the way back we drove by Ellen's old home. I just wanted to see it. They've torn down the workshop/garage that my fatherinlaw kept his tools in.

Hooch had a good morning on the financial front. He turned off Dad's health insurance and started the life insurance company investigating his policies. In the afternoon he and Mom went off armed with the death certificates to do battle with the banks. He got the IRA transferred. He didn't have a chance to deal with US Bank.

Julia's parents showed up and and dinner with us. Then we all watched some kids movie.
