The day started out with a bang. About 6:30 AM a big thunder storm moved in. Heavy rain, high wind, and lots of thunder and lightning. It wasn't possible to sleep, so I got up and enjoyed the show. The cats and dog didn't. The whole day was cloudy, cold, and windy.
Some people selling a roll top desk replied to a query I sent them. I drove over there. I liked the desk very much. It's an old desk, so it shows some wear and tear. It's got character though. I'll probably buy it tomorrow after I confirm that the back of the desk looks good.
Today is our birthday. I didn't realize it until I happened to drive by a store with a day/date sign. I decided not to work very much in honor of the day.
The local Hollywood Video stores are going out of business. They are selling their inventory at steep discounts. I stopped by one and spent a couple of hours looking through the stock. I left with a couple of blu-ray discs and half a dozen DVD's, all for under $50.
When I got back I felt guilty enough that I put in some time on the house. I knocked off early though. The dog is happy that the furniture is put together. Now she can lay on the couch while she watches me work.
