It wasn't a good day. Ellen's father died. Like with my father it wasn't unexpected, but that doesn't make it any easier. Fortunately for her sister making the arrangements will be much easier than they were with my father. Pre-planning is a very good thing.
We got a lot accomplished on the house. Ellen finished painting the study. She'll start on the living room tomorrow. I finished masking the living room, kitchen, and entry. Then I emptied one of the pods. It was the one that was half full of house stuff and half full of garage stuff. That meant that I had to move a lot of it to either the metal building or the far storage building. I think we're going to be doing some Craig's list selling after we've unpacked.
The other pod has the furniture in it. It's going to be a lot more difficult for one person to unload. I suspect that Ellen might not get a whole lot of painting done tomorrow.
After putting in a 12 hour day on the house, we decided to do a grocery shopping/exploring/dinner trip. We decided to buy a whole lot of frozen food because it doesn't look like Ellen will have much time to cook. The traffic around here is bad. It was crowded at 7:30 at night. We noticed a lot of college age shoppers at the grocery store. There must be a school around here. We had dinner at a pretentious place called the Galaxy Cafe. It was quite good. The waitress was a prototypical valley girl. I didn't know they had them in Texas.
