Day 159

The burglar alarm was installed today. It's a pretty neat, wired system. It's not complete protection for the house, but it's close.

Ellen spent the day painting trim. She finished all of it. That means that four rooms are complete. We decided to paint both bedrooms. So I spent the day masking the rooms and then sanding the trim. We were both tired by 4:00.

We drove over to SE Austin to look at a dresser. It was a nice design, but it was too beat up to put in the master bedroom like we wanted to. There's a couple of other dressers on Craig's list that I'll inquire about once the roof is complete.

One the way back from the dresser place we went on a marathon shopping trip. We bought cat food a Petco. We bought some accessories for the house at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We bought paint for the bedrooms at Home Depot. Finally we bought a lamp shade at Lowe's.

After eating at a fast food place we drove home in a heavy thunderstorm. The lightning was fantastic. It lit up the whole area even though there was heavy cloud cover and rain. Of course the Texans were all driving 20 miles an hour because there was water on the road.

They delivered the shingles for the roof today. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear. If it is they'll do the roof.
