Day 144

Another day spent painting. In spite of all the care we took, there were still areas in the kitchen that needed touch up. We also needed to put a second coat of paint on the living room. Doing that took a large part of the day. The end result looks pretty good. It's a vast improvement over how the sellers left it.

With the walls finally finished it was time to start on the trim. I put down the masking and sanded the woodwork while Ellen did the painting. We managed to get the study mostly complete. That's maybe 1/3 of the total trim. The rest will have to be done concurrently with the move in. We've run out of time. I don't expect to be done with the trim and doors until sometime next week.

When we got home the water didn't work. The pump ran, but nothing came out of the faucet. The output pipe had fallen off the pump. The water had been flowing into the space below the sink. After using half a roll of paper towels to mop up the mess I reconnected the pipe. Everything looks OK now, but I'll have to keep an eye on it.

We're staying at the park tomorrow, preparing to leave. The next time we go up there it will be for good.
