Day 301

I got up with the alarm today.  After the pet stuff and breakfast I went out to poison the environment.

I checked the sprayer battery.  It was down to 66%.  I decided to use it anyway.

The first thing I did was fill the sprayer with 6 gallons of water and then test it out.  It was good that I did.  Several of the hose clamps were loose and leaked.  Also the broadcast sprayer head was on crooked.  It would have been a pain in the ass to fix theses things with poison in the tank.

The sprayer worked really well.  It sure made things easier to do than the old one.  The only bad part is that I have to use the hand sprayer to spray the brick patio in the front yard.  After 2 1/2 or 3 hours I was almost done.  I had about 15 feet of the rock edge and the center of the driveway left to do.  That's when the battery crapped out.  The battery charger wouldn't even recognize it as a battery.  I'm not surprised, since it was 5 years old and lost charge so quickly.  So I went inside, took a shower, locked up the cats and dog, and left.

The first stop was Walmart.  That's where I got the last battery, and I got one just like it.  On the way to get some bread I saw some t-shirts for cheap so I bought a couple.  We looked for some for Ellen, but they didn't have any.

The next stops were the post office and gas station.  The last stop was the hamburger joint that sells the fry sauce.  I needed more.  They had sundaes on sale and we both got one.  In other words we both over ate.

It was a little after three when we got home.  It was hotter than hell, over 100.  I decided to finish up the spraying anyway.  It wasn't fun, but the broadcast sprayer made it much nicer.  The sprayer also worked much better with a new, 90% charged, battery.  After finishing the 15 feet of edging I just drove up and down the driveway with the sprayer going.  I was done, including cleanup, in about an hour.  I was really, really, tired.

I went back in, threw my clothes in the washer, and took my second shower of the day.  I barely got through it.  I spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening in the arm chair recovering.

The evening was TV.  Some Futurama cartoons and a zombie movie.
