We stayed in bed for quite awhile this morning. I slept in and then did a little Minions. When I got up I ddi the pet thing and had breakfast. I had time to do a little digging, but I decided I needed the day off.
About 11 we put the cats away, loaded up the dog, and left for the picnic. We got as far as the front gate. Lee was just leaving and wanted to talk. We talked for about 20 minutes about just stuff. When he found out where we were going he asked us to get him contact information for Sure Shots. He and his partner want to put on a women's clinic that they might be interested in.
We got up to Georgetown quicker than I thought I35 was a parking lot, so we went up Loop 1. It was moving at speed the whole way to Parmer. That's the first time that's happened to us since the construction started. Even driving across Parmer was really fast.
We stopped at a HEB by the freeway and got a veggie plate and a fruit plate. We also got a few things we needed.
The picnic was at this nice lakeside park run by the Army Corp. It was nice with a lot of covered picnic areas. Of course there was more food than anyone could want. Lucy had started getting excited as soon as she smelled the water. She hadn't run in two days, so the first thing I did was take her down to swim. Apparently that's forbidden, but no one stopped me. I let her swim until she was pretty tired.
We ate and talked for 3 or so hours. It's a nice group of people, but of course we were new comers. Ellen talked to the leader, who was interested in Lee's idea.
The drive home was uneventful and a lot faster than driving through yesterday's heavy rainstorm. There were a couple of slow spots on I35 through Round Rock, but nothing major. Loop 1 was smooth sailing.
When we got home I played Minions and surfed the evening away. I also texted Lee with the Sure Shot contact info. He was happy to get it.
Tomorrow Ellen gets poisoned at 8. That means we'll have to get up about 7:15.
