Day 323

I woke up when the alarm went off this morning.  I got out of bed, looked around and went back to bed to play some Minions.  I played for awhile and then got up to do the pet thing and have breakfast.  After breakfast I dawdled around for awhile playing Minions and surfing.  A little before 10 I went outside to do some redneck paving.

I mixed up half a bag of quickcrete with a bag of sand and spread it over the rock that I'd used to patch the lower gully.  I didn't trust the rain forecasts, so I sprayed it down with water afterwards.  I'd only worked for 40 minutes or so, so I looked for something else to do.  I decided to position the cabinet I bought yesterday.  It turned out to fit nicely next to the wall cabinets.  I had to relocate a couple of things on the floor and wall, but I think the end result was actually an improvement in space usage.  That left fixing the shelves and getting a latch for the doors.

I was soaked in sweat by then, so I went inside and took a shower.  Then it was more surfing and Minions until after lunch.  We left for the post office.  There wasn't any mail - an unusual occurrence.  Then we went to the school to run the dog.  There was a big cloud obscuring the sun, so she did 16 or 17 retrieves.  After that it was a stop at Home Depot for a latch, plywood, more sand, and more concrete blocks.  Finally we stopped at Randall's for some groceries.

When we got home I unloaded the car and installed the latch in the cabinet.  The latch wasn't the right type - Home Depot didn't have one, but with a lot of Mickey Mousing around I got it to fit.  Then I cut boards from the plywood to cover the bottom two shelves.  There was an 8 inch hole in the next to bottom shelf and rusty weakened metal on the bottom shelf.  It worked out OK.  It was over 95 in the garage, so I didn't feel like doing anything more.  I still have to clean out the shelve and them put stuff in it.  I'll have to put something heavy in the bottom to keep it from tipping.

The evening was surfing, reading, and TV.  I tried the new snow cone maker.  It makes really nice shaved ice.  I need to get better syrup though.
