Day 313

It was cloudy and a little rainy this morning, so we just stayed in bed.  I don't think we got up until almost 10. 

The sewer alarm went off about 8:30.  The good news is that it was making the intermittent nose that it makes as the tank empties.  Unfortunately you can't get it to turn off when it's in that state.  After about 20 minutes the noise went off and so did the light.

When we did it was pet stuff and then a very late breakfast.  After that we started cleaning up the house because the window guy was coming in the afternoon.  The kitchen table had to be cleaned off - it was knee deep in paper.  I had to sweep up a whole lot of leaves in the entry way.  Then I went outside and did the same thing for the porch.  Finally the window sills had to be cleaned.  They had dead bugs all over them.

The rain last night and this morning didn't hurt the driveway any.  I took the garbage out and that was the end of the housekeeping.

Since the parts finally came in I went out to the garage and put together a pistol lower.  It was 90 and humid in the garage.  The process went OK, but some of the pieces went in a lot harder than the lower I did the other day.  I got done just as the window guy showed up.

The window guy took measurements and then spent an hour and a half selling us on the windows.  I wanted to tell him that we'd already made a decided on them, but I didn't want him to give us a high price.  The things are still expensive.  Replacing the two big windows in the kitchen and the bathroom window will cost $6,300.  I guess finishing the bathroom remodel will have to wait a couple of more years.  At least they are giving us financing with free money for 2 years.

It was after four by the time we were done.  I surfed for awhile and then took the dog to the mailbox.  That's the only activity she's had in two days.  We are going to have to do something with her tomorrow.

The evening was reading and a little TV.  I was doing both at the same time, so the TV wasn't getting much attention.  It was mainly on for the noise value.

When I took the garbage out I noticed that the yard light was out.  If it's out tomorrow night I'll have to see what it takes to fix it.
