I got up a little after the alarm went off and played a bit of Minions. Then I went outside to check the weather. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, so I decided not to do any digging because it was going to get hot quickly. I went back inside, did a little more Minions, and then the pet stuff and breakfast. By the time I was finished with breakfast it was cloudy, go figure.
I decided to do some digging. I really wanted to finish up the ditch and fill the gully in the lower part of the driveway. Filling the gully took 3.5 loads of gravel. I put the other half load on a low spot near the yard light. Then I took the pick and deepened the small ditches at the top of the hill. I don't want them to be very deep. I just need them to channel the runoff into the ditch. I also cleaned up about 20 feet at the very bottom of the ditch. The whole thing took a little over an hour and left me hot,tired, and sweaty.
I went inside and took a shower. Then I surfed until after lunch. Then we left to go to the post office and run the dog. We also went to the pet store to get more prescription cat food. Unlike Bed, Bath and Beyond the pet store got us checked out quickly by adding a checker because people were stacking up. That's the way it should work. We also got a harness for Taiko to keep in the cat room at night.
It was hot, about 100 when we ran the dog at Circle C. She really wanted to run, but the heat got to her. She did manage to do about 10 retrieves.
When we got home we surfed and hid out form the heat. After dinner I watched a NFL pre-season game. Of course I read a couple of magazines at the same time. It's amazing how much dead time and commercials there is in a football broadcast.
